Our oak forest, planted in 2010, is now a flourishing haven producing 500 kilograms of exquisite truffles annually. Sheltering us from the coastal winds while offering breathtaking views of the D’Entrecasteaux dunes, our 500 oak trees are the heart of our farm.

Hide and Seek - A sanctuary where the roar of the Southern Ocean and the tranquility of our oak forest harmonize to create a unique truffle farming experience.
In our 40s, back in 2005, we sought a tree change and embarked on a journey across Australia, exploring the vast interior and discovering the hidden gems within our budget. Our quest led us to Northcliffe, Western Australia, where we made six epic road trips across the Nullarbor, bringing with us our cherished dogs, cars, boats, and treasured possessions from Pretty Beach, NSW.
Our new property was a blank canvas. We wrecked a Jeep using it as a makeshift tractor, tearing down old buildings and investing heavily in water infrastructure to support our vision. The local characters we met became our guides, answering our thousand questions about what a small farm could grow.
Between 2005 and 2007, we connected with truffle industry pioneers Dr. Nick Malaczuk and Wally Edwards. They revealed the incredible potential of our farm’s unique soil and geographical position. By 2009, we were immersed in hands-on learning, working on a leading truffle producer’s farm to master the intricacies of truffle cultivation.
In 2010, armed with knowledge and passion, we planted our 500 oak trees, marking the beginning of our truffle farming adventure. Today, Hide and Seek is a thriving truffle farm producing 500 kilograms of truffles annually, all thanks to our hard work, dedication, and the invaluable help of our Lagotto dogs.
